Apartments Get Racy
18th April 2007
John and Linda Walker are horse owners from the United Kingdom who recently purchased a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment in the Doncaster Avenue building of the Capella Apartments. Members of the Royal Ascot racecourse in Britain, John and Linda spend half their time in the UK and half their time in Sydney. Currently gearing up for the turf racing season, the Walkers
are one of a growing number of racing enthusiasts keen to take advantage of the Randwick Racecourse views from the new apartment complex in Kensington.
So are horse-lovers, or sport-lovers in general, being influenced when purchasing property? It's an interesting thought that
a potential buyer may be swayed by the proximity of a dog-racing track or football oval, but it's something developments like Capella seem to be attracting.
Erik de Haart, a local accountant, is another Capella resident who enjoys the races. He purchased his three bedroom, two bathroom apartment off the plan, capitalising on the views spanning the entire racecourse.
Apartment AB806 has both racecourse and city views and is now for sale through the Carrington Group. The two bedroom, three bathroom apartment is spread over two levels and includes parking for two cars. It has an asking price of $1.05 million.
With a total of 164 apartments, the complex includes a 25-metre lap pool, secure basement parking and five retail spaces fronting Anzac Parade.
